Alma, Colorado
North America’s Highest Incorporated Town
Alma is not just a town to pass through on the way to or from Hoosier Pass; it’s a place to put on your hiking boots and climb 14ers, pitch a tent at the Festival in the Clouds annual event, or stop for a bite at the famous Otto’s food truck. It’s also a great place to call home.
I have personally found this to be true: The Town of Alma is a true community. The citizens of not only the town but of the surrounding sub-divisions, including Placer Valley, join together many times a year to celebrate the joy of living in a small mountain community. Everyone is accepted as long as he accepts all in return. The town, even though it was named for an individual, truly can relate to the Spanish definition of alma meaning soul.
